PLEASE READ THIS FIRST BEFORE YOU MAIL US OR WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO BITE YOU
Please note:
Hairbunniez are not professional hair dressers - nor do we do this full time.
We just discovered a talent for some types of hair extensions, Loose hair, woolly and ribbony experiments, and plasticy goodness.
We do not make hairpieces, or do wrapped dreads or hair braids - although we know people that do and can put you in touch ;)
If you want to try out some fun hair, drop us a line, but please read our FAQ first, or we shall set the bunnies on you!
Also - All our pictures are copyright @Hairbunniez or Nick/Yaruar. Please do NOT takes them without asking permission FIRST.
F.A.Q.
1 - how do I do braids/dreads/extensions/make hairpieces etc?
check out Katherine Quinn's site which has lots of useful advise, and the hairboard forum is where you can get lots of tips and advice!
2 - how much will it cost?
um - how long is a piece of string? everybody's head is unique, and every style takes different lengths of time. we generally work out a price based on how long the job takes to do, which we won't know until you've told us
a - what you want doing (style, length, colour etc)
b - what your real hair is like
here are some example to give you an idea :
a full head (no undercut) of colinette.5 wool ...
we will charge you £80 to attach it to your head. You can supply the wool if you want, or we can get it for you - you usually need 6 skeins, which works out at around £30.
a full head of (no undercut) loose hair ...
we will charge £100 for attaching it to your head. Again we can supply the hair, or you can. the cost for this will depend on the hair you want - cheaper, harder to care for stuff, or more expensive better quality stuff. If you have wavy or curly hair, i'm afraid it will *have* to be the expensive stuff! email us for colour and price info.
we can do plastic by braiding your hair with some wool, or plastic, which will cost from £150 upwards
materials cost will depend on how long/how thick your hair and the finished product are.
PLEASE email us for an exact quote if you are interested - the above are EXAMPLES!
NB : we love undercuts. You get a big ol' discount if you have an undercut ;)
and it really helps us if you can send us a picture of what your real hair looks like!!
3 - can I buy hair from you?
sorry - no. We are not a hair supplier or a wholesaler, but if you check Katherine Quinn's site again there is a pretty good list of international hair sellers!
Pak Hairworld are good for us, as they're in London and you can actually see and handle the hair before you buy. They don't offer mail order service though. Otherwise, Afrocare are UK based and have a good selection. Dr Locks in the US offer a wide variety of hair, with fast and reasonable shipping to the UK, and excellent customer service.
4 - how soon can I get an appointment?
this is a toughie - we are both doing hairbunniez as a hobby, and have boring grown up full time jobs Monday-Friday, so generally, we can only do the hair thing on weekends - and Emmeline is in a band, Interlock who practice Saturday evenings - so that limits any LOOOONG jobs, like plastic or dreads to Sundays.
If you live fairly near, we may be able to do you (oo er missus) over several evening.
And every now and then - we like a weekend to ourselves....
5 - why don't you sell hairpieces?
for a couple of reasons -
firstly, we haven't made many, and aren't too confident that the quality is up to scratch just yet.
secondly, we haven't got a wholesale dealer for hair - so at the moment there's no way we can compete pricewise with any of the other marvellous online companies out there.... check out the links at the bottom of page for some of them.
please don't mail us to ask about hairpieces - as soon as we decide to do them, we'll put it on the website - promise!
6 - can I have hair like Pink/Anastasia/this actress/that singer...
possibly - but imagine we are REALLY odd and live in holes and never watch television or anything and don't know who ANYONE is...... if you want a particular hairstyle you've seen on someone else, PLEASE send us the link to photo!
[you remember that episode of Friends, where Phoebie cuts Monica's hair? Photos are our friend!]
7 - Can I be a Hairbunny?
If you are also good at doing hair, any sort, and want to be given Honorary Hairbunny status, mail us with some examples of your work, and we can talk about linking you, or showcasing your pics on this journal.
NEW HAIRBUNNY!Animaa is now working with us.
Phew! - did that answer your question?
If not, or if you want to take things further, drop us an note and we can have a chat about what you want and how we can help.
